Born into a life of uncertainty
We all take our chances every day
But remember that most importantly
Without taking risks we can’t make headway
To love is to risk not being loved back
To live out our lives is to risk dying
If we are to keep everything on track
We must risk failure and keep on trying
The danger in life is to risk nothing
Trying to avoid peril and sorrow
All our hopes we’d be losing
If we didn’t take risks for tomorrow
To hope for the future is to brave despair
To reach for our dreams is to chance failing
Reasserting after setbacks will repair
Our opportunities which keep us prevailing
It takes true strength to turn the other cheek
To sympathize may seem to risk ridicule
Suffering may seem to appear we are weak
But learning from our mistakes becomes our school
Risks must be taken for us to be free
We forfeit our freedom chained by our fear
Taking chances is the best way to be
By embracing them we shift into high gear
It’s always best to show your true colors
Stop worrying about what they may perceive
Be less concerned about pleasing others
Get out there and wear your heart on your sleeve
