THE DIFFERENCE WE MAKE

 

It’s the little things we do for others

That often have the best results

When we lend a hand to friends and brothers

We can become better adults

When we show others appreciation

Doing good won’t be diminished

We can always build a better home and nation

Because our good work is never finished

It’s easy to lash out and be spiteful

Being kind shows the most power

Our place in life can be true and rightful

So that strength of character can flower

We’ll better each generation’s namesake

From our teens until one-hundred-and-seven

When we imagine the difference we make

Building goodness on Earth as in heaven

We help out to solve any mess

As we improve our communications

In order to make some progress

To refine ourselves against complications

We’ve all been given a bountiful life

With every moment of infinite worth

We can all reduce the amount of strife

And make things better here on Earth

When we’re alive we can choose our heaven

And make things better while we live

If you take away one single lesson

Life is sweeter when we learn to give

We’ll better each generation’s namesake
